Meredith is a certified Physician Assistant who graduated in 2009 from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. Prior to this, she graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2005 with a degree in Health and Exercise Science with honors. She is originally from Fort Collins, CO, and grew up loving the outdoors, especially camping with family and trout fishing all summer long. Her passion for health, the outdoors, and good ‘ole organic food-eating comes from her upbringing in Colorado and continues to influence the way she practices.
In addition to practicing traditional medicine, she joined Dr. Rothwell’s practice at Wellness and Longevity in 2012, and continues to further her education in the areas of integrative and functional medicine. She primarily focuses on gut dysbiosis, neurological and auto-immune issues, and food sensitivities. The cutting edge, scientific breakthroughs found unparalleled in the field of integrative medicine continue to excite her and spur her to treat patients as a whole; addressing the root cause of disease rather than treating individual symptoms. Most auto-immune and neurological issues today have a direct connection with the gut, and in treating the gut, the issues can be resolved. This is known as the gut-brain connection, and is something that she is proud to be promoting.
When not working, Meredith can be found chasing and feeding her two boys, Micah and Garrett, aged 3 and 4, and doesn’t remember what she used to do prior to this. Painting, decorating and antique shopping come to mind, but are a hazy thought. She is expecting a baby girl in March 2017.
